Ever since I was in elementary school I have been obsessed with school supplies. I always had to have the cutest notebooks, folders, pencil bags, and more. When I started at Centre College nothing had changed (at least in that department). I bought my notebooks months in advance and dressed up my Mead Five Star notebooks with monogram decals. College is also when I discovered my love of planners. It all started at ADPi chapter meetings when I saw all the older girls with the cutest Lilly Pulitzer planners. Since I love jotting things down, making lists, doodling, and general planning I knew that I had to have one. I started out with a cute pink Lilly Pulitzer planner, then went to the extra large Lilly planner, then my gold polka dotted Kate Spade planner, and then my plaid Erin Condren. Of all of those my least favorite planner was the Kate Spade because the gold dots rubbed off. Not cool, Kate. But my favorite was the Erin Condren. I loved that you could completely personalize it with everything from interchangeable covers to stickers. After I graduated college and had considerably less to write in my planner, I still had to have one. I bought a gold metallic Erin Condren (she ships to APO addresses for free!) and planned away. I wrote down all my travel plans, Oktoberfest dates, and more. No planner could ever fit me better.

Until I discovered the Day Designer. One of my sorority sisters and closest friends, Christina, said that she had one and loved it, so of course I had to do some research. The website is usually sold out but I found that I could preorder the January 2017-December 2017 planner... so I did! While it may be September it is never too early to plan! Okay, maybe it is a little early. Hell, I don't even know where I will be in January!
So guess what arrived today! My very own Day Designer! I ran to our mailbox and found the glossy mint green box. It even had a little gold emblem in the corner. Sold. Upon opening the strangely heavy box, I discovered another glossy box within the mint one. Again with the beautiful gold emblem, this one also had a little drawer complete with a mint green pull ribbon. Oh my lanta! I'm a sucker for good packaging. And this was FLAWLESS! Upon opening I found a brief, well done information card as well as cute stickers.

The planner itself is heavier (2 lbs) but not obnoxious and bulky. I chose a blue medallion pattern that has the signature golden Day Planner emblem. The corners are also protected with gold metal which is perfect if you're like me and stuff your planner in your purse or backpack. On the inside there are monthly and daily planning pages. I look forward to using the monthly design to plan out my blog posts!. The daily spread is what really sold me. Each day of the week has its own page unlike most planners that will have 3/4 days per page. Each has 5-9 hourly scheduling, an inspirational quote,a to do list, a space for dinner plans (!!), top 3 to do's, daily gratitude, notes, and more! At the front of the planner there is a folder as well as goal setting worksheets. These are interesting and I hope to use them as best I can. The one thing that I don't love about the Day Designer planner is that the paper seems a little too thin for my liking. One of my biggest pet peeves is ink that bleeds through or that you can see to the other side. Hopefully I'll find that this isn't the case!
I can't wait for December 31st so that I can FINALLY use it! Purchase your own Day Designer here. Hurry! They sell out fast!
Let me know if you have any questions!
XOXO, Ellie
